Dr. Martin Zambaldi

As a freelance IT consultant based in Neumarkt (South Tyrol), I combine deep technical know-how with many years of leadership and management experience. My approach is always independent, pragmatic, and focused on tangible client benefit.

After my career at Infineon/Siemens in Munich, my Ph.D., and an Executive MBA, I led IT departments in South Tyrol's public administration and most recently as Head of IT at Raiffeisenverband Südtirol.

Currently certified as ISO 27001 Lead Auditor (VOREST AG, until June 2029) and ISO/IEC 42001 Implementer (DGQ). Active in the DACH region and Northern Italy.

Independent strategic IT consulting in the DACH region and Northern Italy. ISO 27001 Lead Auditor and ISO 42001 Implementer.
Focus
  • Independent advice to management on IT strategy, process digitalization following ITIL, and software selection and introduction
  • Support for NIS2 implementation and leadership of IT projects including change management
  • Efficiency gains in the IT environment, including through the use of AI
2019 – 2025
Head of IT & Head of Organization
Raiffeisenverband Südtirol · Bolzano
Overall responsibility for IT strategy, budget, security infrastructure (SOC, NIS2, ISO 27001), MS365 migration, and compliance.
Results
  • Zero security incidents throughout the entire tenure – while building SOC, monitoring and penetration testing with reporting to the supervisory bodies
  • 100% remote work within 2 days at the onset of Covid, based on the new mobile workplace model with MS365
  • Complete replacement of the Lotus Notes platform as project manager; introduction of an AI-based knowledge base
  • Moderated the technical working group of the round table to unify IT architecture across the Raiffeisen network

  • Support service quality up 30% through close monitoring; two parallel support structures merged
  • Contract responsibility (“DEC”) for around a dozen of the largest IT contracts of the provincial administration; tenders up to double-digit million euros, repeatedly chair of technical evaluation committees
  • License costs reduced by about 10% (Office for Spatial and Statistical Informatics)
  • Innovative projects funded by the EU (Interreg, ERDF); project management methodology handbook and co-building of a PMO
